Milton made landfall as a strong Cat 3 felt across most of the state of FL. Unexpected were the wide powerful tornados on the opposite side of the state that caused extensive damage and loss of lives. CitiIMPACT is sending supplies (in NEW palletized organized semi loads) and setting up cook sites (serving about 5K meals a day) with our partners in Ft. Pierce, Stuart, Sarasota, Ft. Myers, and Parrish with more to come – even as we continue to serve 21 sites in NC, GA, SC, and TN. As a reminder every dollar sent to us is multiplied at least 100 times through our gifts-in-kind partnerships.
With that said, please DO NOT pack up your car or U-haul truck of random items and set off to deliver on your own. Well meaning people end up clogging the roads, overwhelming sites with items that aren’t usable (used clothing as seen below – not a CI site), and taking away valuable space for necessary aid.
